RenewAire’s new and larger facility is
seeking LEED Gold certification

MADISON, WI – April 13, 2017RenewAire, a pioneer in enhancing indoor air quality (IAQ) energy-efficiently, cost-effectively and sustainably, is moving into a new, 111,000-square-foot facility that’s more than double the size of its previous building. The move is in response to growing market demand for Energy Recovery Ventilators (ERVs), and the new facility is seeking LEED Gold certification – a step up from the previous facility’s LEED Silver. In addition, due to the installation of RenewAire ERVs and increased-ventilation design, the facility offers a high level of indoor air quality (IAQ).

“The new facility supports our mission of fostering sustainability, helping the planet by reducing energy use and at the same time improving human health and wellbeing,” said Chuck Gates, who co-founded RenewAire over 30 years ago. “The facility’s healthy indoor environment and collaborative design inspire innovation and create a positive, people-centric workplace. Further, by expanding our manufacturing, R&D and Quick Response Manufacturing (QRM) infrastructure, the facility allows us to maintain and enhance our industry-standard short lead times and customer responsiveness while upholding the highest quality standards throughout an ever-growing and increasingly complex product line.”

“We practice what we preach, and by applying our ERVs in the new facility, we can provide high IAQ and demonstrate different ventilation strategies with real-time operations and energy savings,” said Nick Agopian, Vice President, Sales and Marketing at RenewAire. “For example, we can offer visual affirmation of what it means to double, triple, quadruple or even go to 100% outdoor air. What’s more, the new facility enables us to diversify our product offering in order to address additional markets while maintaining our industry-best warranty with the fewest claims.”

Strengthening sustainability and occupant health, while saving energy, are guiding principles for RenewAire, and the new facility realizes these objectives in several ways:

The new facility is more than double the size of the previous one and offers high IAQ
  • LEED Gold: The new facility is seeking LEED Gold certification due to several key sustainability attributes, including: Offering high IAQ, renovating an existing building, recycling 95% of construction waste, improving energy performance by 34%, reducing water use by 40%, powering the building with 100% wind-generated electricity, using low-emitting building materials and providing substantial indoor lighting via LED bulbs and natural daylight with skylights and solar tubes.
  • Green Globes and ENERGY STAR: In addition to seeking LEED Gold, the new facility is on track to achieve Green Globes and ENERGY STAR certifications, which will continue the legacy of RenewAire’s facility being one of the few buildings – especially among manufacturers – globally that are LEED, Green Globes and ENERGY STAR certified.
  • Healthy IAQ: By using RenewAire ERVs to increase outdoor-air ventilation rates above the minimum standards set by code in all indoor areas, as well as bringing in 100% outdoor air in some spaces, the new facility enjoys a high level of IAQ.
  • Optimized energy efficiency: By implementing a tight building envelope, an extremely insulated roof, LED lights and a highly efficient HVAC system with RenewAire ERVs at the core, the new facility’s total building loads are significantly reduced and energy consumption is minimal.

RenewAire’s new facility is located at 201 Raemisch Road, Waunakee, WI 53597, in the greater Madison area. For more information, contact RenewAire directly by clicking here.

About RenewAire

For over 30 years, RenewAire has been a pioneer in enhancing indoor air quality (IAQ) energy-efficiently, cost-effectively and sustainably in homes and buildings of every size via fifth-generation, static-plate, enthalpy-core Energy Recovery Ventilators (ERVs). RenewAire ERVs optimize energy efficiency, lower capital costs by reducing loads and decrease operational expenses by downsizing equipment, resulting in major energy savings. As the first innovator with static-plate, enthalpy-core technology in North America, RenewAire today is one of the largest ERV companies in the world. In 2010, RenewAire joined the Soler & Palau Ventilation Group, providing direct access to state-of-the-art air-moving technology. For more information, visit: www.renewaire.com.
