RD Series Retirement Announcement
The RenewAire RD Series has been a staple of our commercial dedicated outdoor air systems with energy recovery for years. To provide our partners with the most efficient technology available, we are retiring the RD Series and transitioning to our more advanced DN Series and award-winning HE+DX Coil Integrated System.
Critical Retirement Timeline:
Last Call for Orders: Final purchase orders must be submitted by April 8, 2026.
Final Shipments: All remaining orders will ship by July 1, 2026.
For upcoming projects with high-performance requirements, we recommend pivoting from the RD Series ERVs to either:
DN Series: Our premier packaged DOAS with energy recovery models have R13 foam-injected insulation and thermal break construction.
HE+DX Coil Integrated System: The 2025 Environmental Protection New Product of the Year, offering high-efficiency DOAS functionality in a compact footprint.
RD Series Legacy Specifications For existing projects and installations, technical specifications remain available for reference:
Performance: 500–4,250 CFM range
Core Technology: Uses L125-G5 cellulosic-based cores (free of halogenated flame retardants and PVCs).
Standard Features: TEFC Premium efficiency motors, bypass economizer with enthalpy control, VFDs, non-fused disconnect, and motorized isolation dampers (OA, RA).
Legacy Options and Accessories: Spring vibration isolators, double-wall construction, integrated programmable controls, and MERV 13 2″ filters.

The RenewAire RD energy recovery ventilator (ERV) series is designed for commercial applications and has a CFM range of 500–4,250. With both indoor and outdoor units available, the RD Series provides the optimal solution for every commercial application such as commercial warehouses and hospitals.
Unit features include: TEFC Premium efficiency motors, bypass economizer with enthalpy control, variable frequency drives, non-fused disconnect, motorized isolation dampers – OA, RA, cross-core differential pressure ports.
Available options and accessories include: spring vibration isolators, double wall construction, integrated programmable controls, exterior paint, MERV 13 2″ filter (shipped loose), smoke detector–duct mount (SD-D), and more.
The RD Series uses L125-G5 cores. The core, which is comprised of cellulosic-based material, doesn’t contain/use halogenated flame retardants or PVCs.
