Featured New Product: The RenewAire Electric Preheat Option

Maximum Uptime in Extreme Cold | Zero Frost Interruptions

Making its debut at the 2027 AHR Expo, the RenewAire Electric Preheat option is an engineered cold-climate solution for our HE07IN, HE07RT, HE10IN, HE10RT, HE15IN, HE15RT, HE20IN, and HE20RT ERVs.

Designed specifically for Canada and northern U.S. markets, this factory-integrated solution preheats freezing outdoor air before it reaches the ERV core. By stopping frost formation before it starts, it prevents airflow restrictions and protects HVAC operational uptime—even during sub-zero temperatures and high indoor humidity.

  • Target Commercial Applications: K-12 schools, healthcare clinics, banks, dental offices, fitness centers, and retail spaces requiring non-stop ventilation.
  • Live Display: Experience a hands-on look at the HE15RT with Integrated Electric Preheat on the show floor!
Prevent frost formation with RenewAire’s Electric Preheat option. Engineered for HE Series models to optimize airflow in sub-zero weather.

Additional Live System Demonstrations

Attendees can consult one-on-one with application engineers to discuss ventilation load reduction, HVAC decarbonization, and building code compliance (ASHRAE 62.1, 90.1, 241).

RenewAire is sharing booth space with its sister companies: S&P USA Ventilation Systems, S&P Canada Ventilation Products, and S&P Air Control.

RenewAire is pleased to be presenting in the 2027 AHR Expo’s New Product Theater. This year, Manager of Product Management, Timin Musallam, will present “ERVs, Frost Control, and Electric Preheat: Solutions for Extreme Cold Climates” on Tuesday, January 26, 2027, from 11:15 AM to 11:35 AM CST in Theater B (South Hall) at McCormick Place. The 20-minute session will cover engineering strategies for eliminating frost risk, reducing cold-weather heating loads, maintaining balanced building air pressure, and simplifying unit specification for commercial HVAC designs in Canada and northern U.S. states.

The RenewAire Electric Preheat option conditions incoming sub-zero outdoor air before it enters the static-plate enthalpy core, raising temperatures just enough to prevent moisture in exhaust air from freezing onto the core face. Available on select commercial HE Series indoor and rooftop units (HE07, HE10, HE15, and HE20), this factory-integrated option utilizes modulating SCR heater controls (1–17 kW power range) to deliver continuous 24/7 balanced ventilation in extreme winter climates without resorting to energy-intensive, exhaust-only defrost cycles that cause building pressure imbalances.
